MX records in the DNS system specifies the host names of the servers that handle the email for the domain. The MX validator tool validates MX records, and tests SMTP functionality for the domain.

MX (Mail eXchange) records are a type of DNS (Domain Name System) record that specifies the mail server responsible for accepting email messages on behalf of a domain. The MX record is used to direct email to the correct email server, allowing email delivery to the intended recipient. The record contains the domain name and priority value of the mail server, allowing for multiple servers to be specified for redundancy and backup purposes.

Priority values in MX records indicate the order in which mail servers should be attempted for delivery. The mail exchange server with the lowest-numbered priority value is tried first, and if it is unavailable, the mail client will try the server with the next-highest priority. This allows for failover to a backup mail server if the primary server is unavailable. If multiple mail servers have the same priority value, they are used in a round-robin fashion. The priority value is an integer, with lower numbers indicating higher priority.

TTL (Time to Live) is a value in DNS (Domain Name System) records that determines the length of time that a DNS resolver is supposed to cache the information for a particular DNS record. When a resolver queries a DNS server for a record, it will cache the response along with the TTL value. The cached record will then be used to respond to subsequent queries for the same record, until the TTL expires. At that point, the resolver will discard the cached record and query the DNS server again for an updated version of the record.
